How To Get Blog Traffic Faster

The first thing to do when launching a new blog is to set up Google Search Console. With Google Search Console, you can submit your new blog posts and start getting traction with search engines.

Below, you’ll find the steps to get started with Google Search Console.

  • Head to Google Search Console and sign in with your Google account.
  • Click on the “Add a property” button and enter your blog’s URL.
  • Choose the website you want to verify, and click on the “Verify” button.
  • Copy the meta code they provide and paste it into the <head> section of your blog’s home page.
  • Click on the “I’m done” button.

After you’ve verified your blog with Google Search Console, it’s time to start writing high-quality content that people will want to read.

To do this, we recommend using keyword research to find popular keywords in your niche that you can target with your blog posts.

There are a few different ways to do keyword research, but our favorite tool is Keysearch.

Once you’re done writing a blog post, hit publish, and head to Google Search Console to submit the new URL.

To do so, simply enter the URL in the search bar at the top, and click on the Submit button.

Google Search Console is a free tool that allows you to track your blog’s performance in Google search. By using this tool, you can see how many people are finding your blog through search engines and which keywords they’re using.

This information is valuable as it allows you to adjust your content strategy accordingly. For example, if you’re targeting a keyword that isn’t bringing in any traffic, you may want to consider targeting a different keyword.

Tips To Grow Your Blog Traffic

Now that you know how to index your blog posts to start getting traction on search engines, there are other ways you can grow your blog traffic faster.

1. Write Quality Content

This should be a no-brainer, but it’s important to emphasize. In order to get people to read your blog, you need to write quality content that is interesting and informative. If your content is poorly written or boring, no one will want to read it.

What is quality content? Quality content is well-written, accurate, and provides value to the reader. In simple words, do research, become an expert, and make it better than all your competitors.

2. Promote Your Blog

Once you’ve written a few blog posts, you need to start promoting your blog. There are a number of ways to do this, but some of the most effective include social media, email marketing, and guest blogging.

As we prefer organic traffic, we tend to stick to search engine optimization instead of promoting blog posts. Although, if you want to grow your traffic faster, promoting your blog posts is the best way to do so.

Another key factor in getting traffic to your blog is making sure you have social sharing buttons on each of your blog posts. This makes it easy for people to share your content on their own social media channels.

3. Be Consistent

When it comes to blogging, consistency is key. If you want people to keep coming back to your blog, you need to be posting new content on a regular basis. We recommend writing and publishing at least one blog post per week. However, if you can manage more than that, even better. Learn how often you should publish blog posts.

4. Optimize Your Blog For Search Engines

If you want people to find your blog, you need to make sure it’s optimized for search engines. This means you’ll need to conduct keyword research, use the right keywords in your content, and optimize your content for user intent.

Obviously, there are lots of strategies that go into search engine optimization. If you’re new to it, we recommend you enroll in our SEO course.

5. Engage With Your Audience

Another important factor in growing your blog traffic is engagement. If you want people to keep reading your blog, you need to engage with them. This can be done in a number of ways, including replying to comments, social media interaction, and email marketing.

6. Create A Content Strategy

If you want to be successful with your blog, you need to have a content strategy. This means planning out the topics you’ll be writing about, the keywords you’ll be targeting, and the type of content you’ll be creating.

By having a content strategy, you can ensure that your blog is always on track and that you’re not wasting time writing about topics that no one cares about.

We recommend you write content targeting keywords with low competition at first. Once you’ve built up a bit of authority, you can start targeting keywords with more competition.

7. Analyze Your Results

Finally, it’s important to analyze the results of your efforts. By looking at your traffic data, you can see what’s working and what’s not. This will allow you to adjust your content strategy and ensure that you’re always doing the things that are most likely to grow your blog traffic. In simple words, this means you’ll need to do more of what’s working.

So How Many Blog Posts Do You Need To Get Traffic?

As there are no easy answers here, let’s take a look at real examples.

On my main website abrokenbackpack.com, I got traffic quite quick with social media. But, I thought it wasn’t a sustainable way to generate real traffic because you always need to go viral – and let’s be honest, not all pieces of content can make it to the viral stage. At the moment, my website has over 800 blog posts and generates around 115,000 monthly pageviews.

On Nomad Life 101, we currently have around 17,000 monthly pageviews with over 175 blog posts.

The amount of traffic isn’t the key here – the question you should be asking yourself is how many blog posts do you need to make money blogging?

With that said, I would argue that you need at least 30 blog posts before you can start making money with your blog.

Why?

Because it takes time to build an audience and establish yourself as an expert in your field. You need to give people a reason to come back to your blog, and the only way to do that is by consistently publishing high-quality content.

So, if you’re just starting out, focus on writing as much high-quality content as you can. Once you’ve built up a bit of an audience, you can start thinking about ways to monetize your blog.

But, at the end of the day, there’s no magic number when it comes to how many blog posts you need before you start seeing traffic. It all depends on a number of factors, including the quality of your content, how often you’re publishing, and how well you’re promoting your blog, or using SEO strategies.

One of my websites only has 30 blog posts, and it makes money every month. While it’s not enough to live from it, I have a portfolio with multiple websites, and they all add up.

But, I noticed that every website that reaches a minimum of 50 blog posts starts getting more and more traction.

Again, it depends on the niche and how competitive the niche is.

By following these tips, you can make sure that your blog is on the right track and that you’re well on your way to generating traffic. And, once you start seeing results, keep at it!

The more high-quality content you publish, the more likely you are to see sustained growth in your blog traffic.
