How to Write for a Digital Nomad Blog

So you want to write for digital nomads about digital nomads? Well, I got a few news for you.

Bad news – it doesn’t seem that easy to find the digital nomad blogs that allow you to submit their pieces.

Most of the time, bloggers hire freelancers when it comes to content. You know, busy bloggers are happy to outsource some of their tasks, including content writing.

I also mentioned I had good news too. At Nomad Life 101, we believe in sharing authentic stories about digital nomad life. That said, we are open for submissions. If you think you have a great story to share regarding your lifestyle abroad, we kindly invite you to share your experience here.

Why would you want to write for a digital nomad blog?

There are a few reasons why you might be considering writing for a nomad blog.

Here are some good reasons to consider investing your time (and your words) into this.

  • You want to show your writing skills to get the job. Most people hire freelancers with prior experience. It’s great to have something to showcase when applying for a content writing gig. It’s essential to have at least one example (or more) in your portfolio.
  • You want to get a backlink to build your authority. Yes – that’s a very good reason why you should be guest-posting. Having a backlink to your own website shows Google your website has value. If you’re unsure what I mean by authority, let’s just say that Google won’t show your website if it doesn’t trust it. Having other websites linking to yours is a great way to prove your value to Google.
  • You need a platform to share your story. Want to share your story, but don’t have a website or a platform to do so? Well – if you love writing and are keen on sharing your experience with fellow digital nomads, you should do it.
  • You want to see if blogging is for you. If you love writing but aren’t sure if blogging is great for you – you can put your work out there and see if you should take the plunge. You can apply as an intern here at Nomad Life 101 to give it a try.

If these reasons seem valid to you, we kindly suggest you submit your story. It’s pretty easy. We do have two forms of content to pick from.

  • Interviews: These interviews feature a digital nomad job and the REAL story behind it. We LOVE sharing inspiring and honest stories. That said, we want to read about the numbers, and we want to know how long it took you to get there – we don’t want the scam, we want the truth.
  • Guest posts: These articles are still inspiring, but they have another goal. If you want to share a story or tips about a digital nomad destination or job, you can pitch your ideas.
