Are you looking for easy ways to earn a side income from home? You might have heard of getting paid to complete surveys, but did you know you can get paid to read emails?

You’re probably already bombarded with 20 new emails a day, so you might as well profit off of reading emails, and in today’s post, I’m going to show you how.

The benefits of being paid to read emails include the fact that you can do it from anywhere at any time, it’s an easy task to complete, and you don’t even need to get dressed to do it (I won’t tell if you won’t).

In fact, you can snuggle up on the sofa with your feet up, coffee in one hand, and phone in the other, and get cracking reading your emails.

It sounds like a sweet deal, right? Ok, so what about the cons? Just like completing surveys, reading emails is not going to make you a millionaire.

But it’s an easy way to boost your monthly income without too much effort. It can fit around other jobs, childcare, etc, and doesn’t require a lot of brainpower if you feel a little zapped by 5 pm.

All you’ll need to get paid to read emails is a device such as a laptop/tablet/smartphone, and a fast internet connection.

Why Do Companies Pay You To Read Emails?

It’s a valid question. It might seem like companies aren’t getting much benefit from you reading their emails. However, that’s not the case.

The way it works is that the companies display advertisements on their emails, which they get paid for by the advertising company. The company will send you an email; when you open it you’ll see and need to click on the ad, and voila, you get paid.

The ads you see tend to be for free trials of products or asking you to sign up for a newsletter, but you’re not obligated to do either.

How Much Can You Make By Reading Emails?

As I said before, reading emails is not the most profitable way of earning extra cash online, but it is easy. While you’re probably not going to be able to afford a luxury yacht from your earnings, it is an excellent way to add a few more dollars to your wallet.

Each site pays differently, but you can expect to earn up to $0.10 per email, which doesn’t seem like a lot, but it really only takes a few seconds to open and read an email.

So, if you sign up to a few different sites, you can easily complete several a day without it having an impact on your plans or free time, just take it off your Instagram story watching time (we’re all guilty!)

Some sites will require you to either click a link in the email or complete a short survey (generally under 3 questions) about the email. Think of it as a little test just to prove you actually read the email.

Tips For Reading Emails

My biggest tip when you’re signing up to sites that will pay you to read emails is to create a new email address that is just for this purpose.

Otherwise, you’re going to find yourself bombarded with emails and probably miss the important ones from your clients. Alternatively, you’ll miss out on the emails that give you the opportunity to earn cash.

Another tip is to ensure you have your email notifications on so you never miss an opportunity to make a few cents.

How To Get Paid To Read Emails

It looks like you’re sold on the idea, but maybe you’re wondering how you go about getting started.

There are a few sites that are looking for people to read emails and are willing to pay for it, which I’ll share with you now.

InboxDollars

InboxDollars is one of the most popular websites to get paid to read emails. You will receive ‘paid’ emails up to 4 times a day, and they will pay you in gift cards for certain retailers and cash checks.

This is a very easy platform to use as you just have to click a button when you open the email to gain points. Different emails give you different amounts of cash, but you can expect to earn between $0.01 and $0.10 per email. There is also a $5 sign-up bonus.

You can live in any country, but you must be over 18 to sign up.

Swagbucks

Swagbucks pays you to read emails via Paypal. Again, you’ll receive a $5 bonus simply for signing up. Watch out for the ‘click and earn’ emails which are the paid emails, as you won’t get paid for promotional emails sent by Swagbucks, and it can be confusing.

If you refer a friend, you’ll also earn 10% of their earnings forever. The way Swagbucks works is via a points system. You earn points per email, and 100 points equate to $1.

There are also other opportunities to earn money on the site, including watching videos and playing games.

The age restriction is 13, but you do need to be from one of the following countries: USA, UK, Canada, Germany, France, India, Australia, or Ireland.

FusionCash

Another great opportunity to receive a $5 reward just for signing up to FusionCash. The ‘daily cash email’ pays around $0.02 per day, but there are other ways to earn money through the site too.

The minimum withdrawal amount is $25, which as I’m sure you can guess by the amount paid per email, will take you quite a while to reach, but when you do reach this limit, you can withdraw your money to your Paypal account, check, or direct deposit.

Fusion cash is only available to residents of the USA or Canada, and you must be over 18 to sign up.

Unique Rewards

Unique Rewards not only offers a $5 sign-up bonus but also another $5 for every family member or friend you refer.

Each email read pays around $0.01, and you can expect to receive up to 3 emails daily. They payout via Paypal or check.

If you are over 18 and from the UK, USA, or Canada you can sign up. The platform also only allows one account per household.

The name is fairly self-explanatory. Paid To Read Email do precisely what they say and offer a $3 signup bonus, and you’ll earn $0.02 per email that you read.

It’s not a massively lucrative site to get paid to read emails, but there are other ways you can earn money on the site too, including surveys.

You need to have earned $15 worth of points before you can cash out your money, and you can withdraw the money to your Paypal account

The good thing about Paid To Read Email is that you can join it from whichever country you’re situated in.

InboxPays

InboxPays is another GPT (get paid to) site, which gives you the opportunity to earn money from various activities such as completing online surveys, or in this case reading emails.

You get a $5 bonus when you sign up and can earn extra for referring your family and friends, but note that you need to have at least $25 in your account before withdrawing any to your Paypal account.

This website will only send you a maximum of 3 emails per day, all of which you can earn anywhere from $0.02 to $0.25 for reading.

InboxPays requires you to be over 18 and a U.S. citizen.

CashCrate

CashCrate sends out pretty frequent emails that you can get paid to read. You’ll be paid a $1 bonus when you sign up and you’ll need to have $20 in your account to be able to withdraw money to your Paypal.

The good thing about CashCrate is that it’s available to most countries for those over 14.

MyPoints

MyPoints is as it says, a points-based system where you can earn between 5-30 points per email when you click on the links. 700 points equate to $5, and you’ll be paid in gift vouchers.

Don’t worry, though, you can choose to exchange your points for cash to withdraw into your Paypal account. However, you’ll need to reach $25 before you can cash out, which is pretty steep compared to the $5 limit if you want to claim gift cards.

MyPoints is available to residents of the USA and Canada that are over 13.

InboxPounds

InboxPounds is the UK equivalent of InboxDollars. The difference is that this site pays in pounds, and you’ll need to hit £20 before you can cash out your money for gift cards or Paypal cash. You can claim a £1 bonus for signing up, and you’ll earn 10% of earnings from any referrals.

You can receive up to 3 emails per day but that depends on how active you are on the platform. The more active a user you are, the more emails you’ll be sent.

Only UK citizens can join InboxPounds

Final Thoughts On Getting Paid To Read Emails

While it might not be the best way to earn money online, reading emails is a quick and simple task to earn some extra pocket money.

If you do it in conjunction with other online side hustles such as completing surveys, searching the web, adult chat online, or watching videos, you could see the money start to add up sooner than you’d think.

Be cautious with websites claiming to pay you to read emails as there are some scams out there, so always research before signing up and handing over your details to get paid to read emails.

Make sure to pick a legit website that pays people to read emails. We recommend you try a platform first, without committing too much to it, and once you feel like the platform is trustworthy, keep going.
