If you have a blog that gets lots of traffic, chances are that you’ve heard of Adthrive. AdThrive is a high-end ad management system for publishers who get a lot of blog views.

If you’ve been thinking of displaying ads on your blog, you’ve probably heard of AdThrive and Mediavine. In this blog post, we’ll discuss the current AdThrive requirements and how to apply for AdThrive.

If you don’t meet the current requirements, you might want to apply on Mediavine instead. Mediavine has lower requirements when it comes to traffic.

AdThrive

Why AdThrive?

AdThrive is a great ad network management system. It focuses on publishers who get a lot of traffic and their minimum requirements are quite high.

  • They are up to date with the latest Google trends and requirements.
  • They offer financial security (you get paid even if the advertiser doesn’t pay them)
  • You can monetize your videos.
  • They only promote great quality ads
  • Amazing customer service and support team

AdThrive Requirements

To join AdThrive, you must meet the following requirements:

  • 100,000 monthly pageviews on Google Analytics
  • The majority of the traffic must come from the United States
  • No previous infringements with ad providers
  • Content must be unique original and engaging
  • Your website needs to be secure (with HTTPS)

Let’s take a look at the AdThrive requirements in more detail.

100,000 monthly pageviews on Google Analytics

The traffic requirement is the most important one here. You must have 100,000 monthly page views according to Google Analytics to apply for AdThrive.

To calculate the pageviews on your blog, go to Google Analytics. Click on Audience > Overview.

Select the last 30 days and take a look at the number of pageviews.

The majority of the traffic must come from the United States

Make sure your audience comes from the United States. They should be in position #1. To look for your top countries, click on Countries and look for the top country on the list. You should have a high percentage of traffic there to apply.

No previous infringements with ad providers

The next requirement is to make sure you’re accepted by the ad partners and that you did not have any issues with Google AdSense or any other ad providers in the past.

Content must be unique original and engaging

AdThrive accepts publishers that create high-quality content. That said, the content should be unique, original, and engaging. Usually, that means long-form content that suits the requirements for the advertisers.

Your website needs to be secure (with HTTPS)

Finally, your website should have an SSL certificate in order to apply on AdThrive. This certificate makes your website secure and shows your URL starting with HTTPS instead of HTTP.

AdThrive Alternatives

Looking for AdThrive alternatives? Take a look at the following ad networks for smaller publishers.

Mediavine

Mediavine accepts publishers with a minimum of 50,000 sessions per month. I use it for one of my websites. Their focus is on the site speed, building a strong community, and offering great support to their publishers. I highly recommend them.

Monumetric

Monumetric has a minimum of 10,000 monthly pageviews but has a setup fee of $99. It’s the only ad network that requires you to pay for the setup.

Now, you should know that since the beginning of the pandemic, Monumetric has had a waiting list for small publishers. Learn more about the latest Monumetric requirements.

Ezoic

Ezoic has a minimum of 10,000 monthly pageviews. Occasionally, they accept smaller publishers. Ezoic is great especially if you have traffic coming from Asian countries.

Although, some publishers have reported that Ezoic was slowing down their website. It could be caused by the theme used or the hosting provider – so you may need to try it and see for yourself.

SHEMEDIA

SHEMEDIA  has a minimum of 20,000 monthly pageviews. Your audience must be mostly female (70%+) and must be based in the United States (80%+). It’s a good option for publishers who focus on a niche that does well with a female audience.

Final Thoughts On AdThrive

AdThrive is a great ad management system for publishers who get lots of traffic. Their current requirements are high so you may need to look for an alternative if you don’t meet the traffic requirements. In this case, you may want to look for Mediavine.
